Super Bowl Madness, Feb 1st right around the corner.

So as we come to the conclusion of another great football season, there is still that one game left, the biggest of them all. Super Bowl XLIII.

What makes this Super Bowl so good is once again we will see the true meaning of the statement. Can a unstoppable offense penetrate a defensive wall as sound and sturdy as the Pittsburgh Steelers? Can the experience of Kurt Warner and the athletisism of Larry Fitzgerald find holes in whats famously known as the "Steel Curtain." As Super Bowl XLIII approaches, there's a lot of anticipation, analyzing, and predicting going on. The matchup is simple. Kurt Warner a vetran quarterback, and an outstanding young Larry Fitzgerald. Against a intense defense which resides in Pittsburgh. Fitzgerald's numbers in the post season are not just phenomenal they are record breaking. With 23 receptions in just 3 games he has an outstanding amount of receiving yards which now stands at 419 breaking the previous record help by the great Jerry Rice. He's averaging almost 20 yards a catch and has 5 touchdown receptions. Kurt Warner has shown his veteran quality as he also has been lights out. Throwing for 770 yards in 3 games with 8 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions, with a completion percentage of nearly 67. The Cardinals have showed and improved on protecting Warner and letting him get comfortable in the pocket. Even with an outstanding Steelers defense which is arguably the best we've ever seen, if they don't pressure Warner and get him riled up in the backfield he will be very successful throwing the ball.

The Cardinals have averaged 31 points in their postseason games and they have recorded almost 1,200 yards of total offense. The Cardinals have been the "Cinderella team" since the beginning of the playoffs and have been the underdog team throughout the playoffs. The Cardinals say give us more disrespect and more underdog talk "We love it." a Report by Paola Boivin of the Arizona Republic interviews many Cardinal players, all replying with "I'd prefer to be the underdog everytime." and "I would rather be a 20 point underdog rather than only 8.

The words physical, strong, intimidating, demanding, and just plain scary are the words you use when you talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. You could go on for days with statistics, numbers, red zone percentages, starting field position. There is one category that you can talk about, a category that the Pittsburgh Steelers are well known for and that's simple. Troy Polamalu. The Ravens and rookie quarterback Joe Flacco were driving down the field in the AFC championship game. With the promising hope to drive and put the Steelers on their heels, Troy Polamalu had different plans and did what he does best. An interception wasn't good enough as he returned it for 40 yards permanatley putting the Ravens away for the third time this season. The Steelers defense is in tact, healthy as they are going to be, and ready to prove that a great defense will shut down a powerful offense.

On the offensive side big Ben Roethlisberger is going to do whatever he can to take the Steelers to their 6th football championship which would bring up the discussion of the most successful team in NFL history. A win in Super Bowl XLIII will give the Steelers their sixth championship surpassing the 49ers who were the dynasty of the 1980's and the Dallas Cowboys dynasty in the 1990's. These three teams tied with 5 championship titles a piece, the Steelers plan on changing that this Sunday.

Willie Parker has not had what you would call outstanding numbers in the post season. Carrying the ball about 50 times with only 193 yards. The running game has not been key for the Steelers. Ben has been here before and with all the hype and talk that has been lingering around about Ben and his performances including myself. The guy is experienced and when put to the task and put under pressure, he always finds a way to prevail. I'm excited to see both well rounded pocket passing quarterbacks go head to head.

As I wrap up this Super Bowl post. I must end it with a prediction of my own. Since I went to my first San Francisco 49er game at the age of 4, I knew that I would grow up loving this game for the rest of my life. The 80's Niners grew on me as I spent my early years living in California. The west coast offense that was introduced with the Montana and Rice days, followed by the back-up Steve Young, the overall offense and defensive skills are what makes a championship expected team, champions. The Pittsburgh Steelers are in sync with a defense that I have never seen before. It excites me to see how the Cardinals will react when they play against the hands down best defense in the NFL. The Steelers will bring the blitz, and bring it hard. Dick LeBeau age 71 brings a whole new defensive scheme to the NFL and the Steelers. His made up and amazingly perfected and executed "Fire zone blitz." LeBeau says the Cardinals are going to be prepared for their defense and are going to spread out their very talented receivers to try and throw the Steelers defense off. He says with the improved Cardinal running game in the post season the Steelers will have to be the best they have been this entire season.

The Arizona Cardinals have an offense that is a force to be reckoned with. With the experience and talent of Kurt Warner and again the amazing Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin are in complete charge of the offensive arsenal they plan to bring against the Steelers.

I have always been the guy that would rather see a 6-3 game than a 40-30 game. The Cardinals have the skill to bring and put up 30 points on the board. However, the Steelers have the skill and intensity to take that Cardinal offense and hold them to a point total they aren't used to. I'm going with the defense this year. The Pittsburgh Steelers are too good on the defensive side of the ball and are too experienced in big games. The Cardinals haven't won a championship in 61 years. They have a lot to prove and are more hungry than any team that could be there. It's going to be a fight in the trenches and whats hoped to be a never forgetting game.

Pittsburgh wins their 6th title 27-20. It will be a well fought game, a physical game. The defense will prevail and the Steelers and Troy Polamalu will bring their best defensive game and they will take Super Bowl XLIII.

Who's playin in June?

Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic.
Who's the best? Or is it someone else?

These teams have had the eyes and ears of the basketball nation as we are about to come up on All-Star weekend.
As we approach the All Star weekend, MVP talks are already being talked about, and the question is simple, who's it going to be this year. The obvious contestants, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers as of now hold a slight lead for the best record in the NBA over the Lebron James driven Cavaliers.

Kobe Bryant and the Lakers are in complete charge of the west and with a bench that continues to improve each and every game you have to ask what bench can match up with the Lakers. Luke Walton, Sasha Vujacic, and Jordan Farmar have been injured and have been out several games in the past two weeks. Farmar has been out for 12 games until he played Sunday evening and came
back looking good as ever. Pau Gasol who is averaging nearly a
double double a game, has been improving as the Lakers
look towards a promising post-season.
It can be said that the Boston Celtics have the best starting five in the NBA. With Ray Allen's shooting Paul Pierce's leadership Kevin Garnett's amazing defense and Rajon Rondo's great playing which continues to improve throughout the season, the Celtics starting five is a force to be reckoned with.
Paul Pierce.
The problem lies with the Celtics second team can they keep up with the well played and depth of maybe the Lakers second
team? As you saw on Christmas day the Lakers second team, and bench points clearly out weighed the Celtics which ultimately led the Lakers to a win. There are a lot of things to think about before the finals come around in June. My pick the Lakers to take it all in June. The series to watch this post season Celtics and Cavaliers. With all respect to the Orlando Magic I think the Boston Celtics are aged and well experienced, and the Cleveland Cavaliers are too hot to not be in a top spot this year, watch out for this years finals are gonna shape up to be a historic one.
Watch as Phil Jackon seeks his 10th NBA championship and the Boston Celtics seek their 2nd championship in a row. With both the Cavs and Magic on their tails saying and showing they have something to prove.
Look forward to more as the Playoffs and Finals come near.
